Parent is one person. Parents is two people: your mom and your dad. Say my parents, not my parent, when you mean both.parent 是一個人；parents 是兩個人：媽媽和爸爸。兩個都要說時，用 my parents，不是 my parent。

注意
Chinese has many words for aunt, uncle, and cousin. English has just one word for each. Aunt can be 阿姨, 姑姑, or 舅媽.中文的阿姨、叔叔、表哥有很多種說法，英文每一種只有一個字。aunt 可以是阿姨、姑姑或舅媽。

- Grandpa's old dog is very sick. Dogs do not live as long as people, and one day it will die.

注意
Say older brother and younger sister. Chinese uses 哥哥 and 妹妹, but English uses older or younger + brother or sister.要說 older brother（哥哥）、younger sister（妹妹）。中文有哥哥、妹妹，英文用 older 或 younger 加 brother 或 sister。

- Phonics helps you read a word from its letters. English has five vowel letters: a, e, i, o, u. The other letters are consonant letters. When r comes after a vowel, the vowel makes a new sound. - Four more groups end with r. The letters air sound like the word air. The letters ear and eer often sound like the word ear. The letters our often sound like the word hour.還有四組以 r 結尾的字母。air 唸起來像 air（空氣）這個字。ear 和 eer 常常唸起來像 ear（耳朵）。our 常常唸起來像 hour（小時）。
